Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) at the University of Washington engages in independent research and policy analysis on K-12 public education reform issues, including choice and charters, finance and productivity, and urban district reform.

Project Description 
Through this grant, the Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) will use its ongoing research to explore the issue of equal access to personalized learning and deeper learning across the schooling system. To facilitate a richer account of the problem and solutions, CRPE will focus on school systems in two states: Colorado and Connecticut.

The mission of the Education Development Center (EDC) is to create learning opportunities for people around the world, empowering them to pursue healthier, more productive lives.

Program Description 
To support the District Level Systems Change Initiative, EDC will design and implement a customized technical assistance conceptual framework and plan for grantees. The technical assistance agenda will be based on the goals of the Foundation, the needs of the grantees, the interaction of EDC’s work with other technical assistance providers and thought partners, relevant research and theory, and EDC’s model of continuous improvement for systems change.

The Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University is a national policy-research and reform support organization that promotes quality education for all children, especially in urban communities. This grant will allow The Annenberg Institute for School Reform to continue providing technical assistance to the Foundations’ lead community partners and youth groups through the end of March 2015.

Project Description
Recently named the best urban high school in the nation by the National Center for Urban School Transformation, Revere High School is looking to build on its tremendous success with flipped and competency-based learning. This grant will support the district’s goal that 100 percent of its high school students be college and career ready by 2025 by helping to build internal capacity for implementing student-centered learning, more community engagement and piloting new strategies in a measured way at specific schools.
