National Public Education Support Fund 

The National Public Education Support Fund convenes and supports a vibrant and diverse learning community of foundations, policymakers, and thought leaders who share a common commitment to lifting the learning and life outcomes of all children in America. Their goal is to facilitate greater connectivity, communication, and alignment among multi-stakeholder networks to realize the power of public education as the bedrock for an inclusive democracy and broadly shared prosperity. 
 

Grant Description  

Shared Systems will use the Partnership’s vision and values to foster system as well as school-level exemplars of reform, along with new narratives, structures, tools and policies that can advance community efforts to renovate and transform systems so that they support the development and adaptation of new learning practices and outcomes. It will utilize the Partnership’s approach to field alignment and network-building by researching and identifying like-minded efforts focused on system change and establishing a working group of potential partners both within and beyond the Partnership’s network that can develop and share frameworks and tools.

Elevated Thought is art-based 501(c)(3) organization that serves, inspires and develops communities through youth empowerment curriculums and city beautification projects. By aiming to make hope tangible - that is creating positive change others see and want to be a part of - they tend to the soil of communities, both morally and artistically, through various art mediums. 
 

Grant Description  

The grant will support Elevated Thoughts ongoing work to strengthen existing structures and frameworks to educate, engage, and motivate youth for greater, more intensive action around magnifying student voice, specifically around the current education they are receiving in the Lawrence Public Schools – and what that education says about the history of education in urban and rural areas. $10,000 of this grant will focus on a communicaiton strategy to build its members capacity to promote thier work.

The mission of National Public Education Support Fund is to promote equitable opportunity for all children to obtain a high-quality education from birth through college and career.

Project Description 
This grant will support the collaboration of the Partnership for the Future of Learning and the FrameWorks Institute - guided by the insights being surfaced through field engagement taking place through the Shared Story project - to identify and analyze the counter narratives that the field currently faces and, together, develop and test new recommendations that communicators can use to stand up to these new narratives and advance progressive education reform.

The mission of the National Association for Family, School and Community Engagement is to advance high-impact policies and practices for family, school, and community engagement to promote child development and improve student achievement.

Project Description
This grant will fund a portion of the costs associated with the Reframing the Conversation project, an initiative in partnership with the FrameWorks Institute, to conduct research, develop tools, build the field, and deploy framing strategies to reshape the way the field and the public thinks and talks about family, school and community engagement.

The FrameWorks Institute works to advance the nonprofit sector's communications capacity by identifying, translating, and modeling relevant scholarly research for framing the public discourse about social problems.

Program Description
Through this agreement, the Foundation will deploy specific services performed by FrameWorks to six Foundation grantees or partners throughout the grant period. FrameWorks will assign staff to work directly with these partners. These include the auditing of messaging material through the lens of the Core Story on Education framing research and coaching grantees on effective implementation of the research findings.

The Department of Education Workshops has two workshops on Core Story on Education. One workshop is for USBOE Communications Staff to dive deeper into the Core Story research and implications. The second workshop is for senior level DOE staff to dive deeper into the introduction to Core Story.

As the Research Development Intermediary, Jobs for the Future continues to facilitate the development and coordination of the Nellie Mae Education Foundation’s research agenda. As the Foundation promotes student-centered approaches to learning as an avenue to dramatically increasing the educational achievement and attainment of secondary students, there is a commitment to build an emerging knowledge base through a series of research papers and related dissemination and field building activities. The goal of this project is to gather existing research, carry out new research, develop new conceptual frameworks for understanding and applying findings, and share this information broadly and deeply with those in the field.
