Grant Description 

This is a capacity-building grant for Lewiston, ME, which is entering their final year as part of the PU&D engagement project. With this grant, they will work with Everyday Democracy and Great Schools Partnership to develop a comprehensive engagement plan, aimed at reaching a diverse coalition of student, family, and community stakeholders and to embed the principles of authentic engagement into the district and school priorities and activities.

Holyoke Public Schools

Great Schools Partnership

Grant Description  

GSP provides coaches to serve on the technical assistance teams in coordination with Everyday Democracy, adding additional support and capacity to those coaching teams working with district and community leadership. Their inclusion on the TA teams added needed education systems expertise, and an ability to navigate the sensitivities and dynamics of a school environment. This is a renewal of that TA function.

Build Public Understanding & Demand Project LEARN, Inc.

Project LEARN, Inc. 

Project LEARN, Inc. is a free-standing 501 (3)(c) nonprofit organization committed to building capacity in the Lowell Public Schools (LPS) towards the ultimate goals of increasing access to early childhood education, lowering the disproportionately high dropout rate, ensuring more students access higher education upon graduation, and other measures that support student achievement. Project LEARN accomplishes these objectives by supporting the LPS in strategic planning, resource development, etc. 
 

Grant Description 

As part of this grant, district leaders work closely with coaching teams from Everyday Democracy and Great Schools Partnership to implement engagement plan developed in Year 2. This grant will focus on building the capacity of the district to design, execute, and sustain authentic student, family and community engagement strategies for the purposes of shaping and influencing the future of learning in Lowell.  
 
This grant is a formal partnership between Project LEARN and the Lowell Public Schools, and will focus on building the capacity of both entities to design, execute, and sustain authentic student, family and community engagement strategies for the purposes of shaping and influencing the future of learning in Lowell.

Dover School District 

The Dover School District is made up of approximately 4200 students and 600 employees. The Dover Career and Technical Center (CTC) provides students with an education that combines rigorous academic and technical study, preparing them for the world of work and continued education. Placing an emphasis on project-based learning, the CTC employs highly qualified instructors who bring years of experience from the industry into the classroom, creating strong connections between theory and practice. 
 

Grant Description  

As part of this grant, district leaders work closely with coaching teams from Everyday Democracy and Great Schools Partnership to implement the engagement plan developed in Year 3. This grant will focus on building the capacity of the district to design, execute, and sustain authentic student, family and community engagement strategies for the purposes of shaping and influencing the future of learning in Dover.

As part of this grant, district leaders work closely with coaching teams from Everyday Democracy and Great Schools Partnership to implement the district's community engagement plan. This grant will focus on building the capacity of the district to design, execute, and sustain authentic student, family and community engagement strategies for the purposes of shaping and influencing the future of learning in Middletown. The grant also provides support to continue to develop and strengthen a diverse coalition, ensure that historically marginalized groups are represented, integrate community engagement strategies in to the day-to-day operations of the district.
