Program Description
The Multimedia Reporting Initiative brings opportunities for students from around our state to elevate the importance of student-centered learning and develop vital skills in storytelling, communication and journalism. With a focus on pedagogy, content and relationships, CPBN will contribute to education reform by making system changes in public education.

EDucate ME will bring the general public, educators, students, and policy makers together, enabling an exchange of ideas aimed at improving education in Maine.

Project Description
In order to increase the media coverage of issues and themes related to student-centered learning, equity in education, and systems change, CPBN will design a multimedia Education Reporting Initiative, including a full-time veteran journalist to produce regular reporting on the values of student-centered approaches to teaching and learning (personalization; student voice; anytime, anywhere learning; and competency-based learning). The Initiative will be made available to students attending the Journalism Media Academy (JMA), a magnet high school in Hartford, Connecticut.
