Washington Northeast Supervisory Union (WNSU) comprises two schools serving the towns of Marshfield & Plainfield, VT. WNSU educators strive to create a caring learning environment, as well as model and teach the importance of social responsibility and academic excellence.

Project Description 
This is a grant for Phase 3 of a three-year engagement grant with Washington Northeast Supervisory union. Objectives this year include developing teacher advisory groups on the evolution of place-based education, doing facilitated trainings on using engagement to facilitate Act 46 reforms, and focusing on sustaining the progress beyond the duration of this grant.

As part of this grant, district leaders work closely with coaching teams from Everyday Democracy and Great Schools Partnership to develop a community engagement plan. This grant is a formal partnership between Project LEARN and the Lowell Public Schools, and will focus on building the capacity of both entities to design, execute, and sustain authentic student, family and community engagement.

Project Description 
This is a capacity-building grant for Oxford Hills, which has been selected as a light-touch community as part of the PU&D initiative. They will work with Everyday Democracy to implement the engagement strategy that was developed as part of Phase 1 of this project, and focus on sustaining the work and progress made in Phase 2. Specifically, during this grant period, the district will host faculty and parent engagements around project-based learning, and implement student-led conferences.

Specifically, Phase 2 will employ authentic engagement techniques into the challenging and ambitious process of district merger, creating the largest education district in Vermont when completed.

Washington West Supervisory Union (WWSU) central office administrators, school administrators, and school board members work together to ensure that every school and community in WWSU provides each student with the learning opportunities needed for them to develop their potential and to gain the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to be productive citizens.

Project Description 
With this grant, WWSU will work with Everyday Democracy to implement the engagement plan developed and refined during phase one and two of this project. Specifically, WWSU will conduct professional development on engagement for staff, redesign the district's website to ensure maximum opportunity for virtual engagement by parents, and prioritize the sustainability of their engagement efforts beyond the scope of this grant.
