The project seeks to address a root cause of racial inequity by advancing cultural humility among project participants by fostering a lifelong commitment to self-evaluation and self-critique, desire to fix power imbalances where none ought to exist, and systemic approach in developing partnerships with people and groups who advocate for others.

Nowell Leadership Academy 

The mission of the Sheila C. “Skip” Nowell Leadership Academy is to ensure that Rhode Island’s pregnant, parenting and underserved youth graduate from high school with the knowledge and skills they need to be prepared for success in college, career and family life. 
 

Grant Description 

Funds will support a planning process that will inform a longer-term facility project that will combine Nowell Academy's two campuses under a single roof by September 2019. The planning process will focus on how best to advance racial equity through the facility project.

Their vision is a dynamic, peaceful urban society where at-risk young

Hyde Square Task Force (HSTF) plans to continue its campaign to increase arts offerings for Boston public high school students.

Voice's for Vermont's Children 

Voices for Vermont¹s Children is an independent children¹s policy research and advocacy non-profit. Voices for Vermont’s Children advocates for policies that enhance the wellbeing of Vermont¹s kids, particularly their most disadvantaged and vulnerable children and youth. 
 

Grant Description  

This grant will support operating costs for Parents and Youth for Change, the LCP in Burlington and Winooski VT.

Center for Curriculum Redesign 

The Center for Curriculum Redesign (CCR) is a non-profit global organization dedicated to improving Education via answering the question: “What should students learn for the 21st century?” The CCR brings together international organizations, jurisdictions, academic institutions, corporations, and non-profit organizations including foundations. It focuses on both designing and propagating new curricula. 
 

Grant Description  

This grant will support the capacity building of the Assessment Research Consortium (ARC). The goal of ARC is to redesign systems of measuring Learners’ progress, aligned to 21st century competencies and desired education outcomes.

Presidents Essex County Community Foundation

Essex County Community Foundation 

Throughout ECCF’s history, the Community Foundation has worked to both build assets through donor funds to support the nonprofit sector and to improve the leadership capacity $of those nonprofits to better Essex County communities. 
 

Grant Description  

This grant would allow ECCF to expand the scope of support it provides to the organizations that conduct enrichment programs that contribute to the success of the LPS "turnaround plan". The goal of GLSF is to significantly impact out-of-school time for youth in Greater Lawrence by encouraging significant support for safe, quality summer programs that enhance social, academic and emotional abilities.

Build Public Understanding & Demand Chelsea Public Schools - Five District Partnership

Chelsea Public Schools - Five District Partnership 

The Five District Partnership is a strategic alliance among the Massachusetts districts of Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Revere and Winthrop focused on improving instruction, academic achievement, and professional growth for educators. The 5DP seeks to raise student achievement across five urban districts with a highly mobile inter-district student population by aligning on and cultivating high quality curriculum, performance standards, benchmark assessments, instructional resources, and professional development across the districts. 
 

Grant Description  

The Five District Partnership is a unique collaboration between the public school districts of Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Revere, and Winthrop. The organization has formally collaborated since 2012 on shared curriculum, teacher resources, benchmark assessments, and professional development for teachers. As part of this work, the organization has worked to build teacher engagement and teacher leadership, and for the past two years has hosted The 5DP Educator Showcase that is the culmination of the teacher leadership work for the year. This is an evening event that celebrates teachers in the five districts and their accomplishments. There are 5 featured speakers who give 10 minute TEDTalk-esque presentations on innovative ideas in their classrooms.
