The Convergence Center for Policy Resolution is a lean, determined, 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on solving social challenges through collaboration. They bring deep knowledge of policy and process and work with leaders and doers to move past divergent views to identify workable solutions to seemingly intractable issues. The Convergence team has been instrumental in tackling a range of social issues throughout careers spent in the public and private sectors. They are building on past successes to spread the word and the tools for use in solving a broad array of challenges. 

Grant Description  

This grant is to grow the development and operational capacity of Education Reimagined, a group of educational practitioners, scholars, business people, parents, who are collectively engaged in blended learning, disruptive technology, deeper learning, connected learning, personalized learning, social and emotional learning, community schooling, out-of-school learning, teaching improvement, the teaching profession and its collective leadership, school choice, and more.

Hearing Youth Voices will focus on piloting a credit bearing college class for some of its members, building an education justice platform and increasing its base.

This grant will support the ongoing efforts of WEE to build the capacity of immigrant women in Revere. Funds cover ongoing training, childcare and food as needed.

The School Retool team will collaborate with the New Hampshire Learning Initiative to run a School Retool cohort in 2019. The School Retool fellowship consists of 4 workshop days, across 3.5 months, with activities and coaching in between workshops.

The Connecticut Forum, Inc. 

The Connecticut YOUTH Forum, a CT Forum program, nurtures high school-aged youth in ways that complement and often go far beyond what their school and home environments can provide. The YOUTH Forum engages 700 teenagers from over 35 Greater Hartford high schools in issue-focused discussions and youth initiated/led activities year-round. Youth are empowered to become effective spokespersons and leaders. 

Grant Description  

Funding to film, produce and edit video content of our CT YOUTH Forum students and program that will describe and illustrate HOW the CT YOUTH Forum design leads to a full expression of student voice and student leadership in all aspects of the program.

Presidents Latinos for Education

Latinos for Education 

Latinos for Education believes that Latino leaders should be at the forefront of creating an equitable education for Latino students. Latinos for Education prepares their community to break down barriers to educational opportunity for the next generation of Latino students. 

Grant Description  

The grant will support L4E to: accelerate the leadership of 20-25 early to mid-career Latinos in the Greater Boston education sector through the Aspiring Latino Leaders Fellowship; match 8-10 Latino leaders in Greater Boston to education nonprofit governing boards; create a 2019 policy and advocacy agenda rooted in the voice of our Latino community.
