Program Officer
The Research Office is responsible for supporting and enhancing the Foundation’s overall strategy and agenda and its overall approach to research. The office leads efforts to integrate academic and practice based research into the foundation’s grantmaking and operations. As an integral member of the research team and reporting to the Director of Research, the Program Officer will support Nellie Mae’s funding partnerships with schools, districts, and organizations that are working to build teacher and administrator capacity and take new and innovative leadership positions in schools, districts and state policy conversations. S/he will oversee existing and new grant making strategies from conception to execution. This will include the design and implementation of new grant partnerships that support stakeholders as they build educator capacity and leadership which includes guiding the research and grant making program design and implementation. S/he will also monitor and manage existing grant relationships. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a key area of grantmaking and investment for the Foundation. The Program Officer will have an opportunity to participate in the national conversation around empowering educators to play a leadership role in decision making, giving teachers roles and responsibilities along with the support to take on leadership roles, collectively and individually.
